Paytm is a growing online recharge and shopping portal in India. It offers attractive discounts and cash backs for mobile recharges and also online shopping. Paytm also gives linked discounts for shopping with partner sites. Recently concluded'YipeeRupee Offer' partnering with Yipee noodles was one of such attractive offers. I made comparison with other similar shopping sites and got convinced about the relative benefit in the transaction with Paytm. So I created an account with Paytm giving the details like e-mail and other minimum personal details, as required.

After mobile recharge, my first shopping was for a ready-made window curtain.

I chose the payment option by credit card. Then I waited with crossed fingers for delivery.

Now that there was some money in the Paytm wallet, I wanted to use it as fast as possible. So I chose another item and paid the difference amount needed. Unfortunately after two days I got a message from the seller that the item is not available and the money will be refunded. I contacted Paytm customer care and they said that they will be refunding the money after the fixed number of days as per the agreement with sellers for dispatch. After a few more followup messages from me, I got the refund. I asked the money to be given to my bank account. But on knowing the long procedure and possible delay it may make, and also the need to expose my bank account details, I asked them to credit to may Paytm wallet.

To add to my fears there were some issues when I tried to open the Paytm site. This added to my fears and had weird imagination about virus, phishing etc. The credit card number was automatically saved with my account details also gave me nightmares.(I informed them about this. But it was due to some temporary issues with the website and they solved it soon)Then, I was in a deep fix. My money is with them. I want to get it back somehow. So I chose to do a couple of mobile recharges.
