In the story of Padmaavat, there was a war between Allaudin Khilji and Rajputs. So, according to the Rajputs they are always polite and take care of rules but Allaudin was opposite of that.
All happens due to the Padmaavat if we see, as we know Allaudin was shameless wanna get her. So she doensn't have to show her face to him from the beginning, because he was a big lier he can do anything if he get mad, Also the king of Rajput was also so much polite, there politeness takes there lives. If you can't break your rules can't do anything wrong, you don't need to shake hands with that kind of peoples. Its my thinking. They have to stay affraid, there is no need of make friends like them, there is no need to invite them as guests. It may be best for them.
But at the End I like Padmaavat's decision, yes she was brave and nobody can be like her. In my eyes she became an ideal for me. A lot of respect for her.
