I had bought onida TV 29 inch (600wtts) about 1.5 yrs back and would quite disagree with lot of reviews written about it regarding the picture or the sound quality.
I have been using it quite continuously for about 1.5 yrs. We are a bunch of guys staying together so the Tv is turned on nearly all the time and has worked quite fantastically.
We have a setup, where the TV is connected to a Philips DVD player (with USB port) and is indirectly connected to a USB Maxtor hard drive and the output received by the TV is as good as a DVD. I have never seen any vertical bands or video picture loss during this time.
We also use the TV as a music station as in 'Music Mode' and the quality is quite good, but cannot be compared to a stand alone speaker set.
I have compared the sound quality of the TV with Sony and Philips and is quite better than that in terms of volume and sharpness. Although maybe the picture quality might be better in some sense on the other brands, however this cannot be determined by naked eye.
Overall I would surely recommend this CRT TV as a study and reliable TV with quite good quality and performance.
