Ola and Uber is out to paint the town black and blue. Other than fleecing it's riders with mindless surge pricing at the drop of a hat(whenever and however it chooses to) Both the racketeers incorporated have come up with new and innovative conning gimmicks.
On the 4 Aug(Thur) around 7:45 pm I booked Ola cab and received an SMS mentioned below on my mobile:
Ziyaul Haq(9250852173) is on the way to your location in a White WagonR UP14ET8268. You are paying Rs. 315 for this ride. Share OSN145318755 only on boarding cab.
By 7:50 pm(6 minute later) I was emailed an invoice by them with a total billing amount of Rs 315/- and the amount stood debited from my Ola Money account. The driver(whose name and number is mentioned above) neither called nor picked my calls. I attempted to contact him at least 10 times through my mobile phone yet his phone was busy each time. Needless to mention he didn't bother to call back.
The strangest part of it all was that I received a completed ride on the Ola App the moment I booked this ride! So I didn't have the option to track the cab movement either.
Ola Share Receipt for OSN 145318755 mentions a 6 min duration for an approx 40 km ride for which I was charged Rs 315/-! A ride that I never made!
A word of advice: Never upload money on Ola even if you risk a ride with them!
PL Note: I was a regular rider with them, if this can happen to a regular customer, god knows what may befall not so frequent riders. BE WARNED AND PLEASE BE AWARE OF THESE RACKETEERS.
