Ola started off as a very good service provider but has started getting into the "I have grown too big to care anymore" mode.


To list down the problems,

  1. The biggest and latest turn off is the "Ride time" charges. Do you expect the cab to teleport from source to destination? if I am paying for travelling for some distance, it is a no-brainer that the travel will need some time to complete.

When you charge Rs. 12 per km, how does it make sense to charge an additional Rs. 4 - 5 for the same under the heading of "Ride time" charges? This specially hits the long distance travelers as the effective cost goes to around Rs. 16 - 18 which is equivalent to a Sedan class cab from other service providers

  1. the other thing is no regard for customer feedback. The app does not let you switch to other screens after you complete your ride until you submit the ratings for your ride experience. But how much do you actually care about the feedback?

For the past couple of rides, I rated the experience as 1 star and gave a detailed feedback about the problems I faced but there was no response from Ola. I can understand that it might not be possible to respond to all the ratings and feedback but when a customer rates you 1 start(which is the lowest possible rating) then it means that there is some serious dissatisfaction

  1. The cab drivers in most cases dont turn on the AC and rudely refuse to do so when explicity asked to do it. Again, there is no one who would hear the problems of the customers

A few drivers are rude, unprofessional and their driving is rash. I agree that Ola doesnt hire them or cannot control their behavior but as a service provider, the expectations are from Ola and not from the individual drivers. Maybe Ola can provide soft skill training or issue warnings when a negative feedback is recieved.

  1. Last one is about Ola Auto, I could not get an auto even after many attempts. The waiting wheel spins and spins and spins but no one responds even though I see many of them standing right outside my society. So the overall situation is that you have to go the same old way of bargaining with the autos who never ply by meter

I am sure Ola people are not dumb to not understand that there are several other service providers who are eager to grab their customer base and we as customers would not hesitate to switch to others if the problems persist. After all Ola grew to what it is now because it was a "cheap" and "convenient" alternative which doesnt seem to hold true any longer
