Norway - Dark and Grey

If you ever need to go to Norway, as an average person, (I mean not one of the privileged classes) in winter, there is one word to describe it "cold". Not only cold but dark and grey. The sun rises at 9:30 or so and sets by 3:30. The public transport is efficient. It is a clean city, like others in the western world. But thats it.

Food is horrendously expensive and so are other articles, the best way to guess the price of anything is to think of its price in rupees and take a discount of 10% and then thats the price in kroners, e.g. if something costs 40 rupees in India, it costs 35 kroners here. Everything is packaged and branded and expensive. Shopping is a punishment. Most museums charge 50 Kroners or more as entrance.

Forget shopping for gadgets, unlike the US, they only have mainstream stuff and none of the techie advanced stuff. If you dont mind bland food you could try the fish. Don't even think of buying alcohol. by the way you'll need kroners and changing Euros you lose in the transaction. Maybe summer would be more pleasant.
