Good airline..... Really? . Review on Northwest Airlines

Review : Last June I found ourselves flying from Amsterdam to Bombay. I had heard a lot of good things about Northwest, especially the punctuality of the planes. Ok I agree that the planes are rarely late, but this is not enough to convince me(and i'm a very optimistic person) to fly with this airline EVER again.

We had come from Manchester, UK with KLM and it was an excellent airline. The breakfast was scrumptious, and the crew were really helpful. This raised my expectations of Northwest- being the 5th biggest carrier in the world! we had checked the luggage right through to Bombay, so we didn't have to pick up the luggage in Amsterdam. So we strolled to the Lounge (by the way Amsterdam airport is so beautiful- it's made of glass, so you can see all the planes and stuff).

Before even getting to the lounge we had to go through a rigourous security check... it was like we were criminals or that they didn't trust KLM's security checkers. Anyway as we got into the lounge, I was shocked to see not a B747, or a B767 or anything like that but a horrible dirty travel worn, almost breaking apart DC10 waiting outside our gate.

I was still optimistic, but when we got in the whole optimism had come into no use. We were shuffled by the NW crew to the back of the plane where there was this tremendously loud vibrating noise, like something was about to break off and stuff.

We reported this to the crew and they said it would go away when we were airborne, but it didn't. We decided not to hassle ourselves any longer with the crew and just tried to get to sleep. approaching Bombay airport, it seemed like the pilot just had no experience how to land the plane. OK it was windy and rainy on that evening, but there was so much terbulence landing the plane that I Vomitted!

We received our luggage and set off to see india. On the return journey the security staff treated us like criminals again, and once we had scanned our items, most of them went through, but one which the security man had put through was ment to be taken in hand luggage. So the guy put ''RECHECK'' label on it. This annoyed me so much because they had asked me to open all my suitcases so they could have a ''random security check''.
