Value for Money:

In short, Its my darling. I bought it some 3.5 years back with my first salary, and hence its so special. When I bought this baby, it was the best and the most beautiful thing NOKIA could offer. NOKIA has always been a hype, and I found it a safe bet to put my money on.

I rounded on 3 phones. Nokia 6600, Nokia 6260, and Nokia 3230. 6600 was everywhere and already 3 sets at my home. So I was looking for something new.6260 was a style statement and the features it supported made it even more special. But some bugs were reported and the company had to take it back.

3230 is something what I claim to be the mother of N Series. 3230 only started the trend of a phone with all features bundled in the 100 gms of sheer excellence.

This gadget once fell in the sea beach and was lying there in the salty water for whole 2 mins before I could pick it up. I tried my best to dry up the circuit. But my phone went blank and it didn't boot up. I gave it to the service center and asked them to reload the software.

That's it and it works perfectly even now, being 3.5 years old. Just it has become a bit slow. Hats off to NOKIA engineers.

*GOOD POINTS*

Name the feature any phone supported when this was launched and its there. A nice look

Easily configured key shortcuts

Infrared/Bluetooth/USB port data access options

  • Easily configured application data sets to be in phone memory or card memory

  • I just loved the calendar

  • Perfect GUI

  • The joystick was a bliss, too good for shortcuts and playing games

  • Even after 3.5 years looks and feels to be new

  • Sea water also couldn't destroy its circuit

  • Battery life is too good and still the same battery gives me 2 days of normal talk time.

  • Option of vibration before the ring is a bliss as many time sin meetings when I used to forget turning the phone into SILENT mode, this saved me from PIERCING EYES of my bosses

  • A sensor kind of stuff which recognizes when the back flap of the phone is opened

  • Same port for data transfer and sound output

  • An envy still to the N series.

*BAD POINTS*

-. Its mono-phonic sound quality was a setback for a device of such caliber.

-. The camera image quality needed more refinement

  • The back cover always slipped out

  • Like all other Java application phones of NOKIA, its a bit slow

  • It hangs if we try to do many operations in fast succession

  • Keypads too below in the cellphone, many have problems to access it

  • Voice recording just for 1 min
