When was the last time you bought an album in which each and every song was wonderful? A long, long time ago, if at all, isn't it? They don't make such albums any more. Usually, there are just a couple of songs that are listenable, and that's what makes the album move off the racks in the music stores. People buy them for those one or two songs.
So imagine my sheer delight and unimaginable pleasure when I picked up this 12-track album and discovered that every song - and I mean every song - was a masterpiece. What makes this album a collectors' items is that every song is written brilliantly, composed brilliantly and performed brilliantly. What more could one ask for?
And Dido's voice! Oh my God! Having been stuck for so long with the likes of J Lo, Britney, Beyonce, etc., I had almost forgotten what a trained, mellow, lilting voice sounded like. Dido's slightly breathless vocals will take your breath away.
Songs to watch out for include Isobel, Thank You, Hunter, My Love Is Gone... shucks, I'll end up listing all twelve tracks at this rate!
