Digha is West Bengal's most popular sea resort and tourist spot located south west of Calcutta. It is 187 km from Calcutta and Described as the'Brighton of the East best for a holiday. Digha has a low gradient with a shallow sand beach with gentle waves extends 7 kms in length.

Drive from kolkata . good roads and have good food from road side dhabas. don't want to drive? take Shatabdi 11.15 dep HWH 2.30 digha+- enjoy green along the way with food. take a toto( battery operated 3 wheeler vehicle) to your hotel. Dont want to spend much on travel, take budget trains for 100 rs a ticket.

The sunrise of Digha Beach is wonderful. If you want to see sunrise at Digha Beach than reach Digha Beach around 5:00 am.

New Digha

Pros:

1. The place is very calm.

2. The beach is not too crowded.

3. You can enjoy adventure sports.

4. It is near to railway station.

Cons:

1. There is literally nothing apart from Hotels and Beach on New Digha Side.

2. There are no food joints or restaurants in New Digha.

3. There are no ATM's. Make sure you have sufficient cash with you or otherwise you will have to go to Old Digha to withdraw it.
