USA.NET was an email i.d. everyone wanted to have. It was fast, safe and reliable. It was stable. It was cool.
Please note that I have used the past tense here!!
I signed up for netaddress a few months ago because I wanted a faster alternative to yahoo and hotmail. It worked. The servers were fast and mail delivery accurate. I had no problems till a few days ago when I recd the mail saying that they were closing down. That leaves me with a lotta hardwork to do. Gotta change my address listing in a lotta places and i've gotta inform a lot of my friends. I've saved quite a bit of important mail in my inbox. Now I have to find another safe option and painstakingly forward all these to my new ID.
Frankly the problem arose because I did not believe that netaddress would close down. I guess it's my fault. Now I have to pay the price.
If there's any of you still using the USA.NET address please get another option soon!!
They do have a paid option. Any takers. I wouldn't pay 1 dollar for any e-mail service.... especially ones that just cuts off it's services and leaves a person stranded!!!
I hope this isn't the shape of things to come. Already major email service providers like themail are closing it's doors to free a-mail. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
If anybody can give me a safe alternative, I'd be grateful
