This was the story of a girl named Avni who was struggling with the rituals of society and didnt had a surname. Her parents never got married to each other so Avni didnt had any surname. Her mother Ayesha was a muslim and her father was Hindu i.e Ashish Mehta. Ashish Mehta's Mother i.e Dayavanti Mehta never allowed him to marry her love due to cast disabilities.
First of all the show lost its essence after the sudden death of Mrs. Reema Lagoo R.I.P.
So coming back to the Topic when finally Dayavanti Mehta was caught by the cops and found guilty with help of Avni I think it just diverted from its theme and the makers are unnessarily stretching it.
Initially the plot was very good and inspiring showing how a mother can also give surname and recoginition to his children but now its boring .
