I first started with Mypoints.com when my sister introduced me to the site. At first it was great! We visited web sites, took surveys and earned a great deal of points. Talk City was a partner with Mypoints and they had daily sites to get 10 points a hit from. It was no problem to earn 1200 points to get a Target gift certificate. Now they have dropped the points to 5 each hit and only allow you to go monthly. Below is how you get started and answers to some questions. They are revamping the site so I hope they will make it like it used to be where you could earn a great deal of points.

You first chose a user name. Make is simple so you can remember it! Make your password something you can remember too. If you lose it, they will help you but is takes a little bit to get the e-mail.

After you have signed in for the fist time, be sure you go to the member center. There they have tips on sites to visit daily to earn points as well as merchants who offer you a few points for every dollar you spend at their site. They are adding more ''partner sites'' and that is good.

They also offer surveys at times to help you earn points as well. You also earn points for each person you refer to My Points. The going rate is 100 points per referral. Not to shabby!

Some web sites will tell you they are affiliated with My Points and ask you to sign in to your My points account to earn points credits. That is a nice feature.

I have earned about $80 in Target gift certificates. I am using them to buy school clothes for the kids. Every little bit helps. Now it is harder at 3 or 5 points a click. It used to be 10, 25, 50 or some were 100 points! It was easy then to get more points and gift certificates.
