The motive of writing this review is to caution all readers about the activities of MTS in providing low quality service and support to its customers through fraudulent claims and assurances. The company is lifting its ugly head again after disappearing for 6 months.
Company: This itself seems to be the biggest threat to the brand. About an year ago around this time most of you might have come across MTS ads on TV, hoardings etc. Then, all of a sudden about 5-6 months back everything vanished, including their portal on internet and products from stores. The customer care was unavailable, responses to emails never came. All of a sudden, the website stopped working for more than a month. During this time, my prepaid MTS card got expired. When I tried to recharge, their website wouldn't open. Even worse, the call-centre guys dint pick up the phones. When I tried to contact the MobileStore from where I had purchased this card, the response I got was even more shocking. They told me that "whereabouts of the company are unknown for the time being". After hearing such a response, I asked a few friends of mine who were also users of MTS and I got the same reply. I was later told that the company has shut down. It is totally unacceptable to have a company which doesnt feel it necessary to explain to its customers the lapse in its service. Instead, it went ahead and disconnected my services. What surprises me is that they have again started their website, calls, ads etc. It is said that public memory is short term and MTS knows this well. Now I receive calls daily from the company saying that I have not recharged the data card. They have no answer when I ask them what happened for 6 months when I was sending them emails about lack of service.
Speed: The speed is nowhere close to 3 MBPS which it boasts of in its advertisements. The speed at best can be described to be near 56kbps. And dont even think of using MTS on the go like Reliance or Tata Photon. MTS will frequently disconnect during travel.
Pricing: The purpose of superior pricing against the speed advertised is defeated by the actual speed what the user gets in relation to the price he pays. The pricing keeps changing frequently and keeps customer in dark on many occasions.
Hardware: The data card had come with a warranty of 6 months and thats exactly the time it lasted. Once this warranty period expired and soon when the device failed working, I called up their customer care several times only to get no response on all instances. So if you are ready to spend the price of hardware every 6 months, go ahead and buy MBlaze.
Payment facility: This is the worst factor of MTS. Very limited payment options are available. One of them is online facility which hardly works and whenever it works, it wont accept your debit card on 99% times. Offline payment is very much discouraged by the company like through cheque or recharge coupons etc.
Conclusion: Buyer beware!
