Mithya is a story about an unemployed actor VK (playd by Ranvir Shorey) whose life takes a sudden turn when it is discovered that his face resembles that of a powerful don Rajeh (again played by Ranvir Shorey). The movie starts on a wonderful pace with some funny sequences thrown in. A memorable one is where the some henchmen try to take out a snap of VK.

Sadly, such memorable scenes are very few and quite far from each other. Vinay Pathak and Naseeruddin Shah were not utlised fully in the movie. Neha Dhupia comes about in the frame as a prop. The movie completely belongs to Ranvir. The movie resembles DON in the first half but suddenly it takes a twist near the interval. The second half too meanders along. The ending is a good one, although it comes about suddenly. Wish I could say more, but it would spoil the twists in the movie.

All in all, a time pass movie. Watch it if you like offbeat stuff.  But do not go in the theatre expecting another Bheja Fry from this ensemble.
