Photograph has Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sanya Malhotra has the star cast. Farrukh Jaffar does a good job as the outspoken grandmother. The director of the movie is Ritesh Batra and he does an amazing job just like he does in Lunchbox. Photograph is the story of a street side photographer, Rafi, and a story of a girl, Noorie, who thinks that she is plain and there is nothing special about her. When Rafi flatters her after taking her photograph, she is taken back and starts seeing herself in a different light.
Rafi has a grandmother who threatens to stop her medication till he finds himself a bride. So, he sends Noorie’s picture to her and claims that she is the women in his life. Problems start when the grandmother wants to meet her. Noorie has such a bland and boring life that she pretends she has wounds so that she can pretend to feel pain.
Nawazzudin does a good job as the shy Rafi, but he does fall into his default acting style and does not create something new as Rafi. Sanya Malhotra is amazing in the film.
It is a simple movie that makes you connect with it. There are a lot of shots that show the city or Mumbai beautifully.
Overall, Photograph is a film that will make you forget that you are watching actors inact a story because it feels so real.
