Mere Angne Mein is a delightfully tongue in cheek TV show about a typically middle class family in Mughalsarai, Uttar Pradesh.
The show follows the ups and downs of the Shrivastavs' lorded over by its matriarch Shanti who literally runs the family like a puppeteer and controls their actions adroitly playing with their emotions and ambitions. She is not averse to drama and emotional blackmail to get her way.
What gives an added twist is the dysfunctional family of her daughter Sarla where each member is a character by themselves. Even the spouses of Sarlas son and daughter are off beat.Despite the villainy the melodrama doesn't resort to violence or unbelievable horror! .
