Matheran is a place to be this summer because it serves you with a good climate when the mercury is rising. The best season however to visit Matheran is rains... you will njoy the lush greenary along wid beautiful smell of the red soil.

You can have a great time with nature ,look out for the 12 wonderful points ,..few of which show you the same peak from different angles.

There are many resorts which provide you with good food and excellent accomodations. For people staying in and around mumbai,can visit this place often due to its proximity . Basically plan a one day trip .

There are various means to reach the hill station , u can catch a local train from central railway till neral ,then take the mini train or a sharing cab. Incase you opt for a train you will be taken directly at the market centre which is convinient to start your sight seeing and adventure. If you happen to take a share cab you would be dropped till the entrance of the hill station from there you would either have to walk up or ride the horse back by shelling a few rupees:)

For people with adventurous streak can opt to trek up the hill - which may exhaust you so have your bottles filled with glucose and some easy snack on hand.

You can pursue your hobbies for horse riding ,enjoy sight seeking up the hill amidst the clouds. also remember to savour the jelly sweets and honey which is availble and the speciality of Matheran- it is economical and healthy indeed .
