I've been using M 800 for 10 years and decided to change the vehicle. The choice was between Santro & Wagor R. Decided on the Wagon R Lxi sheerly for the Maruti service network & comfort in the car viz, leg room, trays to keep small ''things'' ok boot space, split rear seats, good a/c et all. After 200 km a ''squeeking'' noise'' surfaced from the engine and it took three trips to the dealer-Sai Service at Cochin to nail the problem. My woes just didn't end there. Though the looks and the interiors are ok, the engine in my opinion is much below expectation. The initial pickup is rather poor, the engine makes a growling noise on acceleration. The gear shifting is crude and at times the reverse gear just refuses to fall in place and therefore city driving in this car is rather pathetic. Driving long trips is ok as gear shifts are minimal. The engine make a humming noise similiar to an old vehicle while cruising at speeds between 40 km to 60 km and its rather irritating. I manage to erradicate this problem by increasing the volume of the music system. Its now one year since I am using the vehicle and pretty unhappy with the performance.

I had written to the dealer a number of times but to no avail..
