Appeal:

I recently purchased a Swift Vdi, Midnight Black, in banglore. I added a DVD System from Pioneer and a Subwoofer 10"( JBL which comes with an Powered amplifier in a cylindrical subwoofer system). Its simply rocking.

I then planned to go in for alloy wheels. I did a survey and I found that tires can be updated upto the size of 185/60-14" with alloys. All these worked out with a budget of 40, 000 onwards. I was little

hesitant in doing these, as in Banglore, you know, its hard to find any vehicles(especially Swift) without alloy wheels or upgraded Tires.

I finally decided, that I shall go for a performance upgrade. I have heard about ECU Remapping, performance headers, Cold air intakes, Nitrous Oxide boost etc, .which are available for Petrol cars.

All these are available also for diesel, but I feared if these would void my warranty.

I then came to know of Pete's tuning box, which promised a performance increase of 25%. When I heard about its price, which was alarmingly high, (Rs.32, 000), it dropped the idea .

It was this time, when I went through Arvind_k's review in mouthshut in the following link.

I tried to approach him for some more information. He helped me in getting a Dragon Performance Tuning Box as well as a Kn Air filter through one his relatives from USA. All these were bought within 20, 000 Rs.

The car now responds much better with throttle inputs. Especially at low rpms, making the city driving a pleasure. In open roads, the behaviour is altogether different, it roars once past 18000 rpm, with the car reaching mad speeds like 140Kmph easily, just in a flex of the right foot.

I tried a 0-100 timings with a digital stop watch. I managed to do it between 11.5s - 12.1 seconds

in 4 differnt trials. On average my Swift does it in 11.8 seconds.

Considering the Stock Swift's 13.86 seconds, this a vast improvement in performance.

Stock Bhp: 75

Bhp with Dragon: 90( few bhps for the kn air filter also).

Fuel Efficiency:

I am receiving a consistent fuel efficiency of 18+ kmpl, in crowded banglore roads, with AC always on.

I would like to thank Mr.Arvind_k for his passion and interest towards cars and his equal interest in helping others. He goes in line with the Vodafone saying'Happy to Help'. I hope Arvind would not mind me writing about him.
