ALTOgether a good car. Review on Maruti Suzuki Alto LX

Hi the Maruti Alto Lx series was launched as a replacement to the 800 or for those who are first time car buyers and are a little bored with the 800 and are looking at something better. Well something better it is, if you look at the styling, safety, comfort of the Alto. The mechanicals are the same a Mpfi 12 valve 799 cc engine producing 45 bhp, with a 5 speed gearbox taken from the now no more in production 800 DX. Though the engine is the same as the 800 gets, but the 5 speed gerabox gives it better drivability.

Also the interiors and seating comfort is way above for what you can get for the same price. The factor which tilts in the Alto's favour is its pricing which for a few thousand rupees more can get you a bigger better vehicle.

Also the alto's braking is much better with a booster, which gives you more confidence when pushing it in the city. Its not much of a highway car, but where one would'nt dream of taking a 800 (read too unsafe) The alto gives the feel of a more stronger car which it is.
