Having a family of 6 members, we were in great dilemna in choosing a car that would take us everywhere, and fit into a modest budget. We were about to buy a 10-year old Qualis for 3.5 lacs before I saw the EECO.
Here was a brand new car from the reliable Maruti ( we had a esteem for 8 years), and available at less than half the price of any other MUV. After the test ride at Khivraj motors, Chennai I was convinced.
At last we got the 5-seater AC version and modified it to a 7-seater(cost Rs.25, 000/-). It is SPACIOUS, comfortable, smooth and delivers 13-14 kmpl on the highway(expecting it to improve after service). AC is really good till the last row. As you might know, there are no accessories(luxury) in the EECO and we have fitted pioneer stereos, crash bumpers at the front and also re-cushioned all the seats. Total cost after delivery was Rs.45, 000/-. But I feel it was worth it.
Yes, we have compromised on pick-up and maneuverability compared to the Esteem but we are satisfied for sure, because our expectations were low.
That is the key, because you cannot get any other car to move more than 5 people at this price.
