This summer of 2004, my children forced me to vsit manali as they wanted to see snow. We chose to stay at manali resorts. It was a wonderful experience, living there. It was a tourist destination in itself. My children still are mesmerized with its riverside proximity and location. The food was also mouth watering and delecious. Though room service was not upto mark.
When we went to snow point, we were a bit late to start and than our driver lost way and we reached solang, first. Weather was bad and there wasd no para gliding so we turned for snow point. Boy, there was great rush and we have to park and than walk about 2 kilometers to play in snow. But the walk was worth taking. I still remember the expression on my children faces.
I visited manali for my honeymoon and than after about 10 years, this time with my my children.
I wish I could come back here again in winters when there would be snow all around. I also have a fantassy that when we came here in winter- roads would be closed and we will have a forced prolonged vacation.
