Realistic scenario...unrealistic ending

Story:

Granted, this is a work of fiction but... I must say I was very disappointed with the ending. It almost feels like the ending was a failed attempt in mimicking the movie ''Ghost.''

I was working at a book store at the time of ''The Lovely Bones'' height of success and must admit, seeing it fly off the shelves was the number one reason for reading it.

Usually I am not attracted to books with this type of sad and disturbing nature and found myself drawn to it as I had lost one of my brother to violent crime a few years ago.

Sometimes books are a form of healing for victims such as me. Unfortuanely until the very end it may have been. Although on the upside, it is a very realistic view of what a family suffers through when such an event occurs, which I can only assume was the authors intention to begin with.

If that is the case, it came very close to home and in a weird way helps people understand of the devastation to a family left behind. Even though the outcome is not what I assumed, I feel anyone will enjoy reading ''The Lovely Bones'' and would hope that it will provide healing for those who need it.
