Lenskart has been in the market since so long and it has been so successful in fooling us. You will come out of that circle after hearing my story.
3 years ago, when I wanted to change my glasses I preffered Lenskart for the first time. Bought Vincet chase glasses with British optics lens which was a total around 3K INR.
I opted british optics lens just because it has Anti glare coating, anti smudge, Scratch resistant, thin lens and many factors which I believed it would have. But I didn't felt that the lens is reflecting any light. I got awat with it and after more than 2 years, I again had to change my glasses. Knowing how Lenskart scammed me, I thought why not test how sh* t lenskart is.
This is what I did and it was dope and assured that Lenskart was an amazing scammer.
Bought same again, Vincet chase frame with British optics lens. When it was delivered, I found that the lens was American optics but not british optics. I searched for american optics online and contacted them about it. They replied We have nothing to do with British optics. We used to be with Lenskart long ago but we are not with them anymore.
This assures two important points.
#1 Those lenses were old as hell. They send you the lenses which were made years ago.
#2 They scam in the name of brand British optics.
I will justify second point. I searched online for British optics and found their website. There is nothing in that website. Completely blank and it was registered under some name on 2015 with location Gurgaon or something. They transfered the domain to Queensland now.
It is strange that a lens brand with lens priced at 2-3K bottom, doesn't have a proper website.
I was too doubtful and took the lens to a local optical store and checked it. I was said that it was a normal local lens and would cost around 1K at that store. I was surprised and thought I have to do something.
I took to the lenskart store and got it checked and told them it was a gift and asked them to check the quality of the lens. Their report will give you a shock. They said Sir it was a road side lens and will cost less than 1K. And then, Sir we have premium best quality British optics lens. Would you like to install it? .
What should I reply? I went to the store manager and gave him left and right and threatened that i'll be going to file a case against them.
I know that nothing happens. And I never used lenskart again and never going to. I threw that lens and installed Crizal lens. Best lens in the world.
If you are willing to buy from Lenskart, go to a local optical store and buy a better lens at half price.
