Chor on loose. Review on Kotak Mahindra Bank

This is exactly the case with Kotak Mahindra Bank. It is a chor on loose. We (the unfortunate) have an savings account with the bank. Now we were given a On Par Cheque Book payable at all branches of Kotak Bank. However when we recently issused a cheque, they charge us Inter city charges for a cheque issued in Mumbai for a Chennai account.

Now as I understand, there are definately Kotak Branches in Mumbai. But still they charge us even though it is a On Par Cheque. When approched for reversal of the charges. We are simply informed that it will not be done. It doesnt matter what was promised at the time of opening the account. Then they say that they will give a discount on some other transaction but not reverse these charges. Which clearly shows that they have wrongly debited but have no intention of returning the money. On saying that, we dont want a discount on next transaction but want our money back., to which they say, it will just not be done.

So in short, a bank is where we keep money to save for ourself but when it is bank like Kotak Bank, then it is like as if you have given money to a Robber and then expecting them to keep it self. Our mistake, to expect such people to keep our money safe. To save urself dont dont dont dont ever bother to deal with KOTAK MAHINDRA BANK.
