Having been told endless positive things about Khyber, I decided to go along and try it for myself.
First impressions were why I am getting into a small lift to reach a restuarant, however when the lift arrived at the top floor I was very pleasantly suprised, there was a nice ambedience and the music was not too loud. The place had a very warm and romantic feel to it.
Order some chaas masla which was delightful. Then the whole thing turned upside down on it head. As for a vegetrian platter for 2, minus one of the kebab portions, instead recieved the vegetarian dish with unwanted portion of kebabs AND an extra portion on a side plate of the unwanted kebabs. I got the aiters attention and highlighted the mistake to which he agreed, and assured me that it would not be reflected in the bill.
The main course was ok, a little too much oil/butter for me but nonetheless it was eatable.
The fiasco then started when the bill arrived, we had been charged for a NON-vegetarian platter and ALSO the extra portion of unwanted vegetarian kebabs. The waiter was alarmed that I pointed it out to him and said the manager would sack him for the mistake he had made, I told him he made not 1 mistake but 3, firstly for not removing the unwanted kebabs in the platter, then ordering an extra portion, and now charging us for a Non-vegetarian platter.
He guessed I was from abroad and was very openly pig headed towards me, until I told hiim in my country (UK) u would be compensating me and as such I refuse to pay for the food I did not order. He then became very sympathetic and apologised but told him too late, he then made the ammendants to the bill, smirked to a college that he would make the money back on the tip cause I was from abroad. Silly person dids not realise I understood hindi, I paid the exact bill and walked off to a much disgrunted waiter.
Truthfully I feel that the one waiter ruined my evening, so ruthless and harsh as this review may appear to be I will visit the place again between 5th and 11th December and will also be able to visit Enigma again and give maybe very differing reviews.
