We brought Kent Pearl in April 2011 as it looked a good product and the overall buzz about it was positive. It worked well for 1st few months and soon started giving various problems.
The customer support was quite sad as their number on the site had changed (Location Mumbai) and when called they probably took down my request in a shady manner.
• Less than 6 months – 1st Problem the UV filter was not working and was partially covered in 1 year warranty and obsly the service charge is Rs. 350/- for a visit.
Engineer’s Comments: You should fill the water 2 times a day. If you use it continuously this part will burn out again and will cost you 2000 to 3000 next time.
• 8 Months - The tap breaks during a normal operation. Service takes 4 days to come by and then 2 days to secure the part Rs. 350 for the part and more for service charge
Engineer’s Comments: This is a common problem and have informed the company but they don’t take it seriously. As there are so many same issues the Tap is out of stock.
• 14 Months & few days – The water speed goes down and eventually stops working. Service call attended in 3 days and again parts out of stock. Electric pump failure – cost Rs. 1800 for pump and other charges 300 – 400/- . Warranty of the new part 1 month !!!!!
Engineer’s Comments : We cant give your any warranty for the parts. Only a bill be given for the part that’s replaced. You can complain to the company or just leave the machine and take a other brand. We are feed up with same reactions from the customers. We are just servicing agents.
Total cost of ownership of this piece of Junk – Base Cost Rs.14, 000 + Parts Rs.4000 + Labour Rs.1000 and Frustration – Priceless !!!
I am sure the AMC will also be a complete fraud with all important parts excluded !!
If there is no response from Kent I am anyway going ahead with a consumer complain in court and also trying to contact TV guys. This company is a complete waste and they think we cant do anything once the product is sold...
BTW same is the case with the Kent Grand+ I had recommended to my sister. At least they got the complete machine replaced as it was beyond repair and within 4 months warranty !!!
