I bought KENT Excell+ for Rs 15000 in May 2011 at Pune. With in 6 months, I was forced to change all the three the filter band sets. I was told it is not covered in warranty and paid Rs 1000 every time. Then the SMPS was replaced in May 2012 and again in July 2014. I changed many parts like UV tube, Inlet vale, Filters etc. The numbers of repairs I have carried out is countless with Rs 350 service charge for every visit.
After all this again last week the hydraulic tank has gone bad. It will cost Rs 1700. I was told I can fill the water in a Jar and need not replace the tank! Just after another week, now the power supply is flashing red light and UV tube might have gone bad.
The maintenance cost of KENT RO is more than my CAR. It is the worst quality product I have seen. I had used RO filter at Kuwait for 11 years without a single failure. All I had done is regular filter replacement.
The KENT RO filter was sparingly used as we used to go on a frequent travel. At 5 liters per day for 5 years, the total water filtered is 9, 125 liters. The cost of machine & maintenance is Rs 30, 000. So the cost is Rs 3.29 per liter+ Electricity charges. It is much cheaper to buy 20 liter water bottles
