North Indian Food as it should be

Value for Money:

As you may have seen from my earlier reviews, I crave for North Indian non vegetarian food. So I had seen this restaurant called Kakori many times while passing by and needed to find something new for myself and office teams. The Ambiance needed to be great and the food excellent.

We were celebrating and were late for lunch and on my brother's recommendation went to Kakori instead of the little further away Punjabi Times. It was a good decision. We needed to climb a flight of stairs to sit but the restaurant though not too big (about 10 4 seat tables) was very well decorated. Tables cloth was clean and there was good cutlery and clean glasses.

So the wife was happy since this was a decent restaurant and clean tablecloth, and good cutlery go a long way in making womenfolk happy. The staff was also very courteous and dressed in clean and crisp uniforms.

Since we were with 5 adults and 3 children we ordered Butter Chicken, Paneer tikka, Prawns, and Seer Fish and some Naan and Roti.

The food was really great with the right amount of spices. Though I like spicy food, it needs to be spiced right. Too much chilly is sometimes what is mistaken for spicy. Not at Kakori though, the butter chicken had the right creaminess and aroma. There was also a well stocked bar with Fosters on tap which we went for.

All in all a great experience. I went again and tried the Lahori murg and that was excellent too. The Gulab Jamuns were great and the menu has other sweet delights I am yet to try. Recommended, if you want to go with friends to a decent restaurant. Obviously the price is a bit high (around 200 for veg gravy dishes and around 350 for non veg gravy) but Bangalore is expensive anyway and a few times you want to eat out well you do expect a Rs 3000 bill for 2 families with kids.
