Jorhat District, located in the heart of Assam is the way to Majuli , The world's largest river island . You can visit the Nimati ghat , which is located on the outskirts of Jorhat town , some 20 kms away from the town. You can take a tempo to Nimati Ghat and can book a ticket for Majuli on a ferry. Some of the tourist attractions in jorhat - The Gandhi park , Tinikunia pukhuri, ETC park to name a few. On one side of jorhat is Shivsagar, the historical town of Assam . There is Kaziranga Wildlife sanctuary on the other side. Jorhat is accessible by train , bus or flights.
