JF Viewing Gallery of Aizwal in the State of Mizoram primarily consists of stone sculptures, inscriptions, terracotta, metallic objects, weapons, miniature paintings and local art & crafts which I explored few years ago with my family on a organised tour of North-East. It also consist sculptures from the excavation of old villages. Museum also has the incredible weapons used in few battles as well as in hunting of animals. The gallery also displays some manuscripts, zoological specimens, local art and craft.
There is also an art gallery in the museum which comprises the specimens of miniature paintings on leaves of the peepal tree, mica and old litho papers which reflects the tribal arts. The handicrafts material and fabrics reflects the ancient lifestyle of the local tribal people.
But please note that you have to pass through the security proceedings for visitors’ safety purpose and photography inside the gallery is not allowed.
