This book is a very nice option for those who have a programming background and are likes to start learning Java and develop their foundation knowledge on Android programming.
I personally used it and found it to be much informative with clear concepts about Java.
I combined this book with some other online tutorials to learn about Java.
The book is more detailed and goes into much more details then just basic stuff, like socket programming and threading.
I personally recommend this book for experienced one and as well as new Java programmers!
