Irctc is one of the most used govt web site which has been hugely evolved over the year. There was a time when people needs to stands in queue to book domestic train tickets which was a shier pain. Then Govt starts Irctc website to book online train tickets but initially their are lot of glitch in their website. Web pages had very slow response time, lot of time session gets expired during ticket booking with a very poor user interface which cause bad customer experience and lost it's reliability.
As the time passes it has changes a lot with its interface, page loading time and in other aspects. recently I have booked a ticket using Irctc website and I had a very decent experience. Now the site is very user friendly. Like previously when you select a train to check the ticket status its use open in a separate page and if you have change your train selection you need click on browser back button which some time causes session expired event but now its open in same page in tabular format. It's also integrated lot of payment option like net banking, credit card, debit card mobile wallets etc.
It might still needs some enhancement but overall it improves a lot
