Pulp Fiction Revisited

Cinematography:

After watching'Transformers' I had given up on Hollywood. No really! The pathetic stuff churned out in the recent past had me thinking on whether there would be any more classics or shall we talk of classic movies only in the past tense.

But here is a movie which is based in German-occupied France which shall grab the attention of even the viewer who has a sketchy knowledge of history. It is pulp fiction re-visited . The setting has changed thats all. It brings a human-ness to historic characters which make them look as if these people live in our era.

Here are the pluses:-

Absolutely crazy plot laced with dark humour(which is great!)Sudden twists and turnsExcellent cinematographyThe best soundtrack that I have heard in a long timeChristopher Waltz as Col Hans Landa - Oscar seems within reach for such an excellent performanceSome really memorable scenesA dark love storyGood performances by the ladies-Dian Kruger and Melanie Laurent

And the minuses though not as bad as I make them sound;):-Brad Pitt is unconvincing though his make-up is greatA climax which is not as great as the entire movie. You could differ with me on this but for me the climax of pulp Fiction was awesome whereas the climax of this one is one degree below awesome.A very poor Winston Churchill(spot him in the movie for me)

The pluses overweigh the minuses significantly and this is a must-watch
