I posted a request for a veterinary medicine for my pet dog. As soon as I posted the request, I got a few messages from suppliers as IndiaMART shares customer phone number with all their registered suppliers Pan India. I got cheated by this supplier posing as Star Medical Supplies as I never got the product I paid for. It seems the fraudster was misusing the GST of the original supplier. However, what is worrisome is that my number was accessed by this fraudster through IndiaMART DB.
Hence their customer data protection measures are not strong enough. Also, they have no way to help me because I made the payment directly to this person. I should have verified the phone number through IndiaMART. But these things important points should be shared and the customers should be forewarned as soon as they register with the platform. Very bad experience with IndiaMART.
