IFB best known for the service support, is now getting infamous due to the same. The washing machines they make are worthy for the price, even mine had run hassle free for 11 years (with fewer problems in the last three years).
The first eight years I did'nt even call them for a service or AMC, you believe or not the machine was running excellently.
I would say IFB has changed the face of Washing machines in India and are pioneers in making washing machines that are effective in washing the clothes nicely.
But for their poor service support now when I go for the new washing machine I would go with LG/Haeir etc.
IFB is a classic example where a company's core strength can turn as their weekness. Complacency and inefficient service team has destroyed the good will created by IFB over a long period. Iam not writing this out of frustration on a single incident and if a corporate person can challenge my claim, I can prove him with the details of the nature (number) of complaint I made and the response by the IFB service center (at Madipakkam, Chennai).
