For me,the decision of buying a service provider was tougher than buying a handset. After much discussion with friends, reading reviews & comparing features,I finally decided to go for Idea chitchat.I haven?t been dissappointed yet.

The Idea service in Maharashtra is impressive. The coverage is spread outskirts of cities, on highways & even in the interior parts of Maharashtra. The network is totally congestion free. Once I went to picnic with my friends well outside outskirts of city. All the cells of my friends of Airtel,BSNL & Reliance got no signals, but my Idea worked fine. Idea signals can be also received underground or in the basement.

My father has Idea connection too, but postpaid connection & he is very satisfied with it.

Once he went to Gwahati(Assam)when he realised he had not activated roaming feature. As there was no Idea showroom nearby,he called me.I went to near Idea showroom & activated his roaming feature within half an hour.

The Idea local calls are charged 1.99/per min, SMS charge is Rs.1 per msg.

which I think is resonable.

Now the Cons?

  1. No GPRS:This is one factor which makes people to opt for Airtel.I have a GPRS handset but of no use.Currently it is only available in Pune.

  2. High Processing fee:I recharge with Idea chitchat card of Rs.350/- which has talktime of Rs.167.53/- & Processing fee is charged for Rs150.07/- which I think is little high.

IF you want good service & reliability, then this is service for you.
