I shifted to Idea network from Reliance about 8 months ago via the no. portability. The intial thing which attracted me was its pricing for 3G and lower call rates.
So, I have seen a lot of people brag about Airtel and other connections. However, I feel that with its pricing and decent coverage Idea does stand out.

Decent network coverage in my area and whenever I visit out station.
Customer support is very good. In last few months I have also seen Airtel customer care responds very low quality.
Pricing is excellent.

3G coverage is very limited.
3G is slow. Works in some places of the same building and in some places it doesnt.
A better network coverage required inside houses.
Overall, I will recommend Idea to anyone looking to switch!
