About an year ago I made a big mistake by signing up for an ICICI direct accout , It has been nothing but trouble ever since. They took their own sweet time to process the paperwork. This would have been ok if the site was any good, but its very slow especially during market hours and the research and charting section simply does not load during the market hours, In a fast moving market where every second counts ICICI Direct ensures that you have a losing deal by being slow beyond belief as an example an order which I placed was executed more than an hour later and this was in the stock of wipro which is heavily traded, God knows what they will do in smaller less liquid stocks. Recently they have instituted a mandatory password change policy where you have to change your password every 14 days , now this in itself is a good policy but the implementaton is typical of ICICI Direct, shoddy and unprofessional, Whenever you login you are taken to the password change page and when you do change your password you get a message saying that the update coould not be done meanwhile you are unable to access any of the account functions so you are effectively locked out of your account. as usual emails to the helpdesk are ignored and I got a reply attaching a copy of the password policy but no solution to my problem. All in all stay away from ICICI diect if you value your money
