Hum Tum is a classic movie about how love can blossom in the most unlikely circumstances & between people who hardly have anything in common. Being a ardent cinegoer, I watch every new movie that hits the town. The best part about the movie is that it spans over a period of 8 years & documents the sweet & sour incidents (or accidents) that happen in the lives of Rhea & Karan. Both are as different as chalk & cheese but fate has something different in store for them.
Life is full of uncertainties but true love wil definitely find its way. Both the main characters are well etched & their different views on different things is justified to a certain extent. Karan's parents are estranged, so he doesn't have much belief in marriage whereas Rhea is more traditional minded. But Rhea wants to be independant at the same time which shows that her character is a perfect blend of the middle class culture evident in our country today.
Saif Ali Khan has finally come of age & performs with greater constraint. Rani, as always, is likeable. Kiron Kher as Rani's mother is at her comical best. Surely, the movie is a fine example of romance at its best.
