Other Features:

I had the HP 882C. I won this through an HP contest. The printer, a few years ago was okay. Today it is greatly

out-of-date. There is no USB port. It is slow although the print quality is excellent.

For anyone making a lot of copies, keep 3 color and 3 Black

cartridges ready. I tried generic brands and HP. There

was no noticeable difference. I used draft mode a lot.

Still, this goes through cartridges like a V8 eats gas

in city traffic.

The color is nice. The BW can be beautiful. The copies

are presentable. But, what happens when a person is printing maybe 10 copies at a time? Most wind up on

the floor, unless the table is large. Why? There is no

mechanism to hold the paper as it comes fastly out.

What good is ''sort'' when the pages are on the floor?

There is a collate mechanism but manual fastening is

still needed.

Toward the end I somehow lost a few tiny screws. The

paper began coming out irregularly. Often five pages of

paper would be not printed on, one-two with half-copy

and the other 3-4 fine. This is not efficiency.

The 880 C came out at a time when it was state of the art.

Now, when used a while it's state is the recyclery.

There is a plastic paper holder that can fit underneath

the printer tray. However, the snaps break readily. And lining it up to grab the overflow looked easy: A mistake.

It works easily, unjams easily, cleans easily and loads

easily. The copy can be outstanding although not photo

quality. It likes to drink ink. Keep a few wippies handy when using it. At times wet pages (inky wet) will come out and this isn't nice.
