Howrah is an industrial and residential place. There are not too many tourist attraction spots. The station itself is one of the busiest stations in India and thus there is lot of chaos and crowded. The management and traffic is very unruly. It's older than its twin city Kolkata and so it's highly unplanned. There are some places where you can go for sightseeing like the Belur Math, the Botanical Gardens some malls etc. There are a lot of buses plying to Howrah but it generally remains very crowded most of the times. You get some decent hotels near the station.
