We selected Homelane for our Mumbai home because of their design pitch, the polished ads, and their sleek experience centers in Bangalore and Borivali. It felt like a smart choice the kind of professionalism youd hope for when doing up your home.
What actually happened?
The design phase was great, and they were lightning-fast when it came to collecting payments.
But the installation was careless shutters had glue streaks, poor finishes, and visible defects.
Quality checks? Non-existent. Faulty laminates were installed without anyone stepping in to say, This isnt good enough.
When we raised concerns, we got a bureaucratic email trail dozens of people CCd, most of whom never introduced themselves or responded.
And even now weeks after moving in, were still chasing basic things like getting the faulty shutters replaced.
Homelane promised a hassle-free experience. Were still waiting. At this point, all we want is for someone to personally check the quality before sending replacements and to finally install them right. That shouldnt be too much to ask, should it?
We feel misled drawn in by what looked like a professional service, but let down by the execution and follow-through. With a local contractor, at least we could have held back payment. With Homelane, we paid upfront and are now stuck chasing responses.
If youre thinking of going with Homelane, ask yourself: what happens if things dont go to plan? Because in our case, the only consistent thing has been the silence from their leadership team.
