I was part of Wipro from July 2009 to December 2011 and was based at client. Was absorbed by HP post termination of Wipro contract from Client. HP will engage you in different tasks of different nature. You will get to learn big time with this company.
Your Manager is your HR is the policy HP follows. Only fortunate people will have good managers with HP. Though you get to learn, managers exploits you big time. It is an expectation setup with the Manager that you should inform in advance if you are sick.
Appraisals and promotions are all perception based. If you are in good books of your manager, you will have good appraisal even if you have not been working. You work for more than 9 hrs but attendance has to be marked as 8 hrs only with the HP Portal. Thus you cannot avail shift allowance as well. Lot of politics within the management.
I found this company good in terms of learning only. From all other perspective it is ok ok company to work with.
