Bought Hero Maxi as it is the only model in India with a portable battery that I can carry to my 20th storey home to charge.
Regarding cost of commute, this can be the best deal available as per user convenience. Since speed is capped at 25kmph & load to one adult and child, you pay no road tax or insurance and if fact you neither need a driving license or helmet. Since per charge range is capped to 70km when battery is new and 35km when 2 years old around when it expires, one needs to be sure the bike will be used regularly as the battery life is limited to 2 years or 15000km whichever is earlier.
If you think you could run the bike 20-30 km everyday, it will be far cheaper that any petrol bike.
In short, if you are someone who knows what you will use the bike for and how frequently then this is the best deal available
