17% of population in  Mumbai suffer from Asthma, which is very common and increases the percentage of sufferers to alarming 25 to 30% during Diwali season.

This is caused by restriction of airways and formation of spasm in the chest. Most common cause is allergy to dust, perfume strong smells, food, pollen levels and many unknown factors.

If you know why it causes to a particular ones, they should try avoid items they are allergic to. Some times it is difficult to identify reason for triggering Asthma.

One should not get worried when under attack of Asthma, since it is not serious physical disorder which can cause fatality. Asthma can be treated very well as well as can be controlled.

Most commonly used drugs are bronco-dilators or controlled action release antihistamine. I am not doctor but use to suffer from Asthma for long which now  can control with medicines.

Best way to avoid recurrence of attacks is to do breathing exercises or yoga. Also one can use nebuliser which helps relieve attack on about one hrs time. Now a days you get portable nebulisers which run on car battery as well as main electrical power supply. These are very handy and can be easily carried in brief case as they weigh very little. Also roto-caps which can be inhaled are available to relieve symptoms.

Best way is to prevent it rather than treat it. If you know the season change can hit you, it is better to take preventive medicines. Continuous breathing exercise helps a lot.
