Kindly remember any ulip (unit linked life insurance policy from any company dies not work for you in first 3 policy years due to charges like policy allocation, administration , mortality, fund management charges etc...if you stick to the policy for 10 years you may get a return of 10 % tax free
My advice is take a term plan from lic and invest the remaining in good stocks like bhel, ntpc, L T, powergrid, I t c etc... in case of obligation kindly tell your friends about charges and poor fund performance
