Hdfc is the private associated bank. There are lot of banks in India including private and public sector banks. Recently I visited the hdfc bank to open a new account. I contacted the people over there. They explained the process of opening account here. The amount required for opening a new account is very costly. We cannot maintain such amount as minimum balance. It is a huge amount. But some banks are giving free account salary account. I mean whose salary is linking with that account, there is no need to pay the opening amount for account creation. It is a good thing for job holders. But for unemployed people, those cannot maintain account by paying those amount. Even government sector banks also asking amount for account creation as minimum balance to be maintained. But government sector are asking very less amount as minimum balance. But private banks are asking as huge amounts to be maintained as minimum balance.
