I am from pune and bought the HCL laptop in September 2007 from pune itself. And I have got a few bad experiences ever since.laptop worked well for first 3 months then its on board mouse buttons..stopped functioning. Since I had to give my exams I managed it using a usb mouse.
All of a sudden battery life which was more than 3 hrs when the laptop was brand new. Went down to 2 hrs in 3 months and then I had this worse experience.
Exactly after one YEAR and 15 days [warranty is 1 year]of buying the HCL laptop the motherboard stopped functioning. And as expected the response I got from HCL was product is out of warranty..and mother board needs to be replaced with expenses of 15, 000 rupees.Now why would I invest 15 k on that when I will get a decent laptop at about more than 30-35k .
May be it is my bad luck or whatever, I atleast expect them to have a 15 day margin for the warranty period :P
And as someone mentioned in the earlier reviews, I too faced the problems with the carry case. As the strap broke off..within weeks of buying.
